I was born and raised in Acapulco, and I have been a trilingual licensed tour guide since 1988 and a cook by heritage. The love for the cuisine was a gift from my mother who owned the Mexican and seafood restaurant (where I learned how to cook from her and my grandma and where I liked to spend the afternoons after school, for more than 15 years).
Encouraged by my father, I learned English and French at short age. In 1994 I got a degree in Tourism and Gastronomy by the University of Guerrero. Along my professional life, I have alternated the cuisine with the operation of excursions and tour services. Guiding tours all over México or catering banquets for weddings, private parties, filming companies and all kind of different events. I have become a lover of my México, the richness if the cuisine and the traditions.
In July 2012 I decided to combine my two passions: Mexican history and Mexican food.
Since then, my wife and I are always happy to open the doors of our home and to share the best of the Mexican food and history with our guests. Cookin' Vallarta has become my greatest professional satisfaction not only for the privilege of projecting the Mexican cuisine and the indigenous traditions with the international traveler, but also for the opportunity of jobs that Cookin' Vallarta has become for other talented local cooks, tourguides and assistants who participate in our team.
