I am a Cambridge-based journalist, author and one-time stand-up comedian. I love my beautiful city and delight in showing people around its ancient colleges.

As author of 'The Two Hour Guide to Cambridge' and a local journalist specialising in 'hidden Cambridge', I am well qualified to give guests a fascinating and enjoyable tour of this ancient city. I am also a playwright and run an arts and heritage company so that history and storytelling is in my blood. If you want a string of forgettable facts, book someone else, but if you want a lively, insider's view of this amazing place, want to learn and laugh, want to find all the best places to take your photos and selfies, then come to me. I was born in Leeds in Yorkshire and studied history at university. For many years I was a teacher and then went on to become a journalist and author specialising in travel and local heritage. I am the author of two books on Cambridge - both walking tours. I love theatre and classical music and am a critic for the local webzine. As someone steeped in theatre, I can help bring alive the many wonderful personalities who have been in Cambridge - Wordsworth, Coleridge, Darwin, Newton, Byron, Wittgenstein and many others. Though i love showing people around the ancient colleges and courtyards, I also enjoy showing you little-known backwaters in this 'the most beautiful city in England'.
